Short Bio:

Gold Code aka Raf Zevallos-Crowe, is a dj/producer based in Orange County, California. A lifelong music lover, collector and 20 year dj veteran. Raf’s eclectic sets run the gamut of dance music with a base in house and techno.
Growing up in 1980s Los Angeles, he was initially inspired by radio mixshows and djs such as: Doc Martin, Rob One, Michael “Mixxin” Moore and 1580 KDAY Mixmasters. Moving to San Francisco in 1992, he immersed himself it’s underground scene working/attending parties and teaching himself to dj. He played his first warehouse rave in 1996 and spent the next 10 years djing and promoting some of San Francisco’s most infamous parties and club nights.
Retiring from promoting in 2006 and needing a new creative outlet. Gold Code was founded as a music blog in 2007. The blog showcased past, present and future classics and as well as his personal edits and dj mixes. In 2009 he refocused his efforts into music production and a live show, adopting Gold Code as his new moniker.As Gold Code, Raf debuted a well-received live set at the celebrated “As You Like It” parties. Remixes soon followed for Nude Photo Music and SubSensory labels culminating with his own debut, “The Day After” with remixes by Audioelectronic, Basskittens, Chris Fierenze and Jonah Sharp.
Resurfacing in Orange Country after over 20 years in the San Francisco underground, Gold Code is back alongside Floppy Disco hosting a new dj mixshow on KUCI: “OMAKASE”, broadcasting live every Monday morning from 6-8AM. You can catch past episodes and more at omakaseshow.com.

About Riders of the Plastic Groove

With well over 20 years of DJ'ing experience, Dennis Simms has held residencies at famous clubs like Metropolis (Irvine, CA) C2K at The Venetian (Las Vegas, NV) and The Shark Club (Costa Mesa, CA). Dennis Simms has performed with world class talent such as Junior Vasquez, Taylor, Danny Tanaglia, Frankie Bones, Sandra Collins, Crystal Method, David Alvarado and DJ Pierre just to name a few. While at C2K, he has opened for Snoop Dogg, Digital Underground, Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh. Dennis was also a part of the So-Cal rave scene back in the 90’s while working with master of underground sound systems known as "Shredder" (aka Atlas Sound). Dennis Simms currently operates a long-standing radio show called "Riders of the Plastic Groove" (RotPG) that is dedicated in delivering the best in electronic music from all over the globe featuring world class DJ's oftentimes performing live sets on the weekly broadcast. The show airs every Friday night from 8pm - 10pm (PST) and broadcasts live and direct from the University of California (Irvine, CA) at KUCI 88.9fm and also streaming worldwide at www.kuci.org. You can also find KUCI streaming on iTunes under Public Radio / KUCI. RotPG, Orange County’s top rated electronic dance music show, features many styles of music such as breaks, house, electro, progressive, minimal, tech house, techno, trance and drum & bass.
